Elizabeth was his only friend back in those awful, awful childhood years. But Elizabeth fell sick.
And she didn’t make it through. That didn’t feel good for little Alex.

Little Suhad and Khalid, dealing with puberty, in the… ancient egypt, that I really don’t know how to draw so just be happy with this.
Khalid has to deal with voices in his head, Suhad, CALM YER TITS, GAWD
Looking through folders to find inspiration I found thissss.
Man, long time I didn’t look at it.
Basically, this is Suhad and Hex Khalid. Suhad had to leave at an early age (11-12 years old) due to an arranged marriage with a merchant, which kept her away from home. Being his only real friend, if not the only kid of Khalid’s age that didn’t beat him up or insult him, Khalid finds himself real lonely after her part.
This is placed years later, one of the few times her husband comes back to their town, Suhad of course takes a day for herself and makes a visit to the Khalid family.
I imagine in that one panel the voices inside Hex’s head are just ‘ASJSDHGADJHAS GYASGYDJASGDGSJAGDJAGJGHGD’ so that’s why he’s still processing what’s just happening.
Poor kid; he’s now happy pills were invented.
Needless to say this is an old comic! And that I lack knowledge about Ancient Egypt’s customs.
Well, this isn’t something I often talk about in internet, cause well. It’s hard to explain. Back when we didn’t pair Chris and Javier together, Chris was with Alexis and Javier was with Jess, Nigbell and Hex womanselves, respectively. Elizabeth aka Izzie was Chris and Alexis’s daughter, and Javi Jr. was Javi and Jess’ son.
After we started pairing them together, we felt kind of bad whenever we mentioned Izzie or Jr. and realized they were originally product of the other couples, cause hey, we liked those as well.
So we started joking around, saying they would just adopt two kids, who would be Izzie and Javi Jr. We even made the crack joke of Chris getting pregnant. You know, the dreaded Mpreg stuff. Of course, as a joke, it was just fun seeing Chris in despair about being the first fucking miracle WHY HIM fuck you Javi and your magic sperm
But yeah, not a sure thing, and it’d be threw adoption, but if they ever had kids, it would be these. And yes, they’re both wonderful daddies. :)
Even though they call Chris ‘mommy’.
